My Students

My students are the most resilient kids I have ever met. As a special educator it is imperative that we provide our students with the best materials possible to lead them towards success. I truly believe that the world needs all kinds of minds, and instilling this in my students is my top priority.

I share an office with 3 other case managers and we regularly have students coming in and out for our support.

Despite having our own caseloads, we develop relationships with all the students in our special education department and support them in so many ways.

My Project

We have lots students coming in and out of our office all day. Their reasons for coming in can range anywhere from taking a break, needing one on one support, or just checking in. With 4 case managers in one office, we frequently share resources, space, and ideas. It is crucial that our students feel welcome, comfortable, and that they are able to find what they need when they come to us.

All of these supplies are things that we have been resourcing on our own, and your support will take the pressure off of us, so that we can better equip our students to be successful throughout their day.

As special education students, our children frequently feel out of place, so providing them a space that is inviting, comfortable, and full of resources is one of the best services we provide as case managers. Things like organization tools, fidget toys, flexible seating, snacks, different mask options, etc. Allow them to find what works for them so they can head back to class and thrive.

Ms. Welch Mastery Charter School - Lenfest Grades 9-12

Celebrate Black teachers and kids! This project supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of students are Black.
