My Students

My class is composed of 50 bright students who are eager to learn. We are a Title I, inner city school, and 90% of the students receive free or reduced lunch. Despite their desire to learn, they are often faced with obstacles when it comes to financial support. Common school supplies such as, folders, crayons, pencils, etc. are sometimes hard to come by. Even working with the bare minimum, my students come to school with their best foot forward and an open mind, ready to learn.

My Project

Most of my student are faced with various financial issues that prohibits them from getting various resources that will maximize their learning. In science, I often implement science experiments according to our topics but, the needed materials are often not in reach to conduct these experiments. In mathematics, many of my students need supplemental material to help strengthen basic and complex mathematical skills covered in third grade. Providing my students with these materials will provide them with the opportunity to conduct more science experiments, provide more resources for mathematics to expand their knowledgeable, and provide them with a better overall learning experience.
