Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students will soon be participating in a project-based learning project or PBL to help them understand the connection between food sources and the life cycles of organisms. The seeds, soil, and planting materials for this project will be used to give the students an opportunity to grow an indoor garden as they study how plant and animal life cycles are interdependent.

Students will experience growing plants that can be a food source from start to finish of the cycle of life.

They will be able to understand that habitats are important to living things because they provide food, water, and shelter, and help us survive, as they will see with the butterfly pavilion. In addition, students will understand that we need a healthy ecosystem to grow our own food. If the planet is damaged, we will have a hard time feeding ourselves.
