Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The students in second grade will work on three different PBLs during the course of the school year. They will create podcasts about and design an ideal green space for their neighborhood. In their second PBL, they will host a trinket sale to raise money for a group of people in need. With their last PBL, they will learn about the life cycle of a butterfly and will create a butterfly habitat.

The materials we requested will be used as follows: The iPad stands will be used to help the students record their green spaces video podcast.

The art supplies (ex. colored paper) will be used for the same PBL to create the park they are designing. The cash boxes will be used for the different groups in all 3 classes to keep track of money during their trinket sale (which is part of their money unit). The trays will also be used during the trinket sale as a place to display the items for sale. The ziplock bags will be used for all PBLs as a way to store needed materials.
