My Project

To prepare my students for the future and responsibilities as adults, we have a well-established classroom economy. Every student in my class has a job and they receive a paycheck every two weeks, with which they have to pay a monthly rent. Students can spend any extra money in our classroom store or on coupons for special privileges.

My students have bright futures in front of them; they are the teachers, lawyers, artists and dentists that will shape the world in years to come.

Our classroom economy is a big hit amongst my students so far, but I want our success to last all year. To that end, I am requesting sticker books for my students--who have to maintain quiet when we are "banking," or distributing their paychecks. I also thought a book specifically about banking and entrepreneurship would be inspiring to my students. To ensure the greatest engagement and success with my students' economy, they need to make money more creatively than just completing their classroom jobs. They would like to make rubber band bracelets to sell to other teachers and staff to have a little side hustle.

I believe that these supplies will inspire my students to dream big dreams.
