My Students

My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. My students are all different types of learners and have various backgrounds. I have students who do not speak English, students with disabilities, and some students who are homeless.

I teach at a Title I school in New York where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Many of my students receive food and clothing from the school's charity drives. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.

My Project

My students have been coming to school everyday since September in person. They are following all the social distancing and mask protocols, which has made their school experience very different this year.

I want to reward my students for working so hard these past 100 days of school by coming in everyday, completing all their work, having breakfast, lunch and gym in classroom, getting weekly in school COVID testing, and dealing with the stress of their family members getting sick and some even hospitalized.

It has been a difficult year for many of them and they deserve something to show them that I appreciate all they are going through and scarifying just to get and education.
