My Students

Imagine a life without the bare necessities; food, clothing, permanent shelter, and attention.

I teach second grade in a high-poverty, Title I, urban, elementary school.

Ninety-nine percent of students receive free lunch. Each student has their own individuality to the classroom this year and it will be a greater responsibility to make my "virtual classroom" into a community. I will do my best to support my virtual learners.

Despite their challenges, they come to school whether it is face to face or virtually each day for education, but mostly for a sense of purpose and unconditional love and acceptance. You might say they are, "Diamonds in the rough!" Pressured, yet passionate and priceless!

My Project

I will be using these supplies to begin the school year face to face. I will be printing resources (using the ink cartridges and laminating sheets), creating anchor charts with students, and maintaining a clean learning environment.

Because we cleared out most of our old supplies for students while being virtual this past year, I wanted to make sure I could provide my students with everything they need.

Although I've enjoyed the challenge of teaching virtually this past school year, I cannot wait to return to the classroom with my students!
