Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students will have the opportunity to use microphones and other audio equipment to produce a podcast in class. As we learn about dialogues, fiction, and non-fiction students will have the opportunity to present their work to the class in a PodCast fashion. Their results can be shared on FlipGrid, or other safe sites for kids. Making their learning related to their interests and world makes learning a lot more exciting.

Our goal for this project is to bring real life scenarios into the classroom.

We hope that our students see the need for reading, writing, communication and collaboration in the real world to create a product. All of these are skills they will need in school and adult life.

Our students are special because they literally asked if we could make a podcast station and they showed me how it would work. (I liked the idea as a teacher because they must write a script, read a script, communicate together, organize, learn how to use equipment etc.) One of the students showed me their YouTube channel and I think I can help them do it better and be safer on-line.
