My Project

My students are eager to move, explore, and stay healthy! With individual pedometers, they can actively track their steps, set personal goals, and see the impact of walking on their overall well-being. Additionally, an Apple Watch for myself will allow me to track class-wide movement data, set collective goals. and serve as a model for healthy habits. This project aims to inspire a love for fitness and healthy habits while incorporating fun and education.

My students are full of energy and curiosity, always looking for ways to engage with learning in and outside the classroom.

They come from diverse backgrounds, and many do not have access to fitness tools at home. By integrating pedometers into their daily routine, students will learn to prioritize physical activity while cultivating healthy habits that can last a lifetime. With an Apple Watch, I can lead by example, track group progress and provide real-time encouragement to keep students motivated.

My goals for this project are to encourage students to walk more throughout the school day by tracking their steps. I would like to connect physical activity with lessons on heart health, mental well-being, and physical endurance.

I am requesting 30 individual pedometers, for each student in the class. These pedometers will be durable, easy to use, and reset daily for tracking steps. They will serve as a motivational tool for students to increase their daily movement, especially during recess, PE, and walking challenges. My watch will serve as a central tracking tool to monitor collective steps, celebrate milestones, and create fun challenges.

Walking is one of the simplest and most effective ways to promote health. With pedometers, students will feel ownership of their health journey, learn to appreciate the benefits of walking, and have fun competing with friends or themselves to meet their step goals.
