Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I've recently come to learn that I have many students who are interested in exploring STEM and feel as though they would like to make contributions to science.

My goal is to provide our students and staff with interesting and new ways to learn about science.

All of the science kits would be beneficial for my students since they have shown us that science is the area where they engage the most. Our students are now understanding the importance of following directions and routines. Seeing this has been rewarding because it means we're keeping our students engaged in learning, and that's our primary goal.

As for the snacks, I've learned that its a great motivator. The happier and less hungry my students are, the more progress they make. My goal is to incorporate snack time with their learning sometimes, since they're more focused when they are not thinking about other things.

The office supplies would be a great addition to our communal space. Due to a lack of resources, space, and funding, we work with what we have available. The office supplies would be a great help in making sure that our staff is prepared for the day.

Overall, I feel that my students interest in science could lead to an increase of scientist for the future. Not too often do we see young minds interested in science around here. I want to do the best that I can in fostering our future leaders in STEM.
