My Project
I am proud to call myself a lifelong Brooklynite. I'm even prouder to say that I teach Language Arts and reading to a terrific group of eighth graders at a Title I middle school in beautiful Brooklyn, New York. Many of my students face challenges on a daily basis that most of us cannot even fathom, yet they are always looking to the future for a better life.
I have been using TPT resources to the delight of my students for some time.
While some may think that the site produces only busy work and worksheets, they are quite mistaken! With TPT resources, I have been able to engage my students. This year, with a new mandated ELA curriculum in place I was thrilled to see that TPT also had a wealth of STEM activities that support this new learning. After creating a robot arm out of household items to support our first unit, I knew my students were hooked on STEM. Now I just need more resources to keep the momentum going.
Our school, like most schools this year has had their budget slashed so there are just no funds available for materials of this nature. After waiting and hoping for things to change, I decided to take matters into my own hands and then place the matter into your generous hands.
With a TPT gift card I will be able to access exciting STEM projects for my students. These items will help to engage and excite my students for years to come.
