Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Building towers, reading favorite stories to friends, drawing letters and tracing friends bodies with chalk are just a few of the things our students love to explore.

Our students are from culturally rich backgrounds with many experiences to share, learn and grow from.

They are inquisitive, intelligent, and do their best. Our students deserve the world and we are trying to give it to them!

Our school population is 86% low-income and there is a high population of English Language Learners. Through technology, we aim to close the gap of achievement between students from low-income communities and those with increased resources.

We do this by providing a 1:1 program to our students during the school day and at home. Our technology integration is based in the SAMR and TPACK models.

Even in Kindergarten, we are redefining education so that our students may be prepared for anything the future holds for them!

My Project

Although our school offers a 1:1 technology program, we do not have appropriate STEM toys for our students to explore and investigate with. They can use their iPads to document learning but without STEM toys like Makey Makey, our students cannot make true meaning from the experience. Ozobot and Snap Circuits will help students learn how to design, engineer, and problem solve.

My students need these STEM toys to climb up the learning ladder.

STEM toys such as Ozobot robotics, Makey Makey, and Snap Circuits so that students can truly build meaning from their exploration to engineer new designs and participate in addition STEM experiences. These STEM toys fit seamlessly into our curriculum and will provide exponential benefits for our little hands on learners!
