My students need materials to explore science, engineering, and math concepts. These magnetic shapes, gears, trucks, and roller coaster parts will develop systems knowledge. The number bots and counting cars will develop number awareness.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
I teach preschool students (ages 3-5) with developmental delays in a Title 1 school in Arizona. My students experience challenges like: learning school skills, developing communication strategies, increasing academic knowledge, and improving social skills like sharing and positive peer interactions. My goal is to provide interventions that decrease their delays by the time these beautiful kids go to kindergarten! My students all have unique gifts and skills that are growing every day. They love to learn, come to school every day with huge smiles, and have families that are dedicated to their progress (despite lack of financial resources in our community). These kids are the future, and meaningful learning opportunities are their key to success.
My Project
Preschool is about hands on learning. These materials will enable students to build with creativity and freedom while learning about systems, magnets, and gravity. I know the kids will benefit so much from these materials because our classroom is significantly lacking in science, engineering, and math opportunities.
My students love to build and create with materials like Legos, but they are ready for new challenges.
The Crazy Shapes Magnetic Building sets, Counting Cars, Stand-Up Magnetic Design Center, Magna-Cars & Trucks, Turn & Learn Magnetic Gears, Number-Bots, and Engineer-A-Coaster Activity Kit will take their learning to the next level because they will have to think about how systems work together. For example, gears only turn when they are paired next to other gears. The build-a-roller coaster parts will only be successful when multiple tunnels are placed in sequence. In preschool, STEM learning is about planning, building, testing the results, and making improvements in the design. These materials are going to promote such wonderful exploration and discovery learning. Most importantly, these STEM-tastic materials will promote social skills and communication as students work together. Please consider being part of our "big plans" to maximize the progress of the awesome kids in my classroom!
