My Students

By the end of the school year, my goal is for all kids to know how to investigate, create, and present a project that truly reflects their passion.

My second grade students are explorers who are always seeking adventure.

Whether students are preparing for their "Ask the Expert" individual project or furthering their curiosity in small group discussions, students love using technology in their learning. Since our classroom is racially, religiously, and economically diverse, we use our unique perspectives and experiences to learn from one another. Our neighborhood school is small enough to provide a feeling of community where all second graders know each other by the end of the first month. What I love about second graders is that they are fearless learners!

My Project

My students love to show me what they know. I am asking for 4 iPads with cases so that we can incorporate technology into our learning centers. My students will use the iPads to practice their math skills with ST and First in Math. They will take pictures of geometric shapes around the playground and present their findings to the class. Some will create iMovies for their American Hero reports. I am also asking for labels and pens to help keep us organized.

I am hoping to partner with Chevron's Fuel Your School program to bring these meaningful experiences to life for my students.

iPads are engaging and accessible to all learners regardless of experience and learning styles. Having the right technology available for student use opens up the classroom and gives kids access to unlimited resources. Technology is fun!
