My Project

"Who are we? We are STEM!" This is how our students begin each morning- chanting, dancing, and enthusiastically affirming our belief that we can accomplish anything we decide to work hard toward! We know that to accomplish great things, we must not only act but also dream! At STEM, we know that all kids are capable of success, with no exceptions!

As the only public STEM school in Manhattan, our students are scientists, technologists, engineers, and mathematicians who dream of someday changing the world.

Our school community is launching a school store to reward students for exhibiting positive behaviors. As part of our Positive Behavior Intervention Support plan, our students earn STEMsolvers for following the 4 Be's: Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be Safe, Be Kind. The goal of PBIS is to create a positive school climate, in which students can learn and grow.

With their STEMsolvers, students learn financial literacy by shopping at the school store. The structure supports students’ social-emotional health and builds character. Students are so excited to save and spend while creating a positive school culture for themselves and their classmates.
