Help me give my students a dependable and high quality camera to allow them continue to be successful in creating meaningful and education campus videos for the announcements.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Each day my classes present a digitally distributed morning show to our school campus notifying students and staff of upcoming events and news while also providing a form of entertainment. In the process of creating this, the students learn script writing, filming, and editing skills that only grow more vital in a time of mass communication.
The Sony ZV-1F camera will provide the students with a dependable and professional tool to create and learn vital skills in the STEM field of Digital Media.
The operation of the camera, understanding settings, and making important framing choices will give them much needed experience in filmmaking. The external mic input on this camera will teach them to value audio and make decisions such as when to use external mics or lavaliers for best results.
This camera is meant to be used by the students, and used collaboratively. This kind of hands on group experience is vital to creating students who are ready for the things that are ahead.
This is not limited to a club, elective, or after school activity. This is a required activity for my students, and my class is a required class for the majority of students in the schools. Almost all students have involvement in the process of creating, and every student on campus watches the completed videos.
