My Students
My students range in age from 6 to 7 years old, with a variety of ability levels and learning styles. Our learners come from a wide range of ethnic and cultural backgrounds and experiences. Having a safe, fun, and comfortable place to come and learn is a top priority for me as their teacher. Each and every day, my students enter the classroom ready to learn with big smiles on their faces. They are motivated to make each and every day a great day for themselves.
My Project
I cannot think of a better way to allow my first grade students to stretch their imaginations than to challenge them to use their engineering and problem-solving skills with these STEM activity kits. The OSMO kits will allow my emerging engineers the opportunity to enhance their coding and mathematical skills. It will teach them concepts such as direction, cause and effect, and trial and error. Students will use Legos and the base plates during our STEM time. They will be able to use their imaginations to design, revise, and evaluate their work. Not only will these materials cover our STEM goals, they will also help my students practice working cooperatively in small groups. Teamwork makes the dream work!
