My Students

My students are a very diverse group who would benefit from the opportunity of receiving the necessary supplies that are used in a chemistry lab/classroom. Most of the students that I teach enjoy learning with hands-on activities that teach them how to problem solve and understand the concepts that are covered in a traditional chemistry class.

I teach many students that come from a disadvantaged background, and it is important for them to have the tools they need to be successful.

By providing them with the supplies needed to perform experiments and having the opportunity to use lab equipment in the chemistry lab is crucial to their education.

My Project

The paper and scales will provide my students with the tools necessary to carry out chemistry lab activities and STEM activities that are crucial to learning scientific concepts. LAB equipment such as balances are required to mass various items from the chemistry activities to the nearest .01 gram. Students will be able to learn how to gather quantitative data and perform such operations as percent composition and percent recovery. Copy paper is also an essential part of the learning experience as students require copies of pertinent labs, periodic tables, and informational items such as equations/conversions in order to become successful in the classroom.
