My Students

Do you remember fourth grade math? Today's fourth grade science goes far beyond what was expected from students a generation ago. Our challenge is to prepare every student for the 21st Century. Science materials like the ones in this project can make the difference!

Our school is a wonderful place filled with bright students.

As with many children, they do not have many opportunities to learn about current events with age appropriate material on their reading level. Approximately 80% of our students are eligible for free or reduced priced meals. Although they may lack the advantages of peers from more affluent settings, they do not lack for energy and enthusiasm! Our school is a small neighborhood school in an urban setting.

My Project

The littleBits Electronics Space Kit is a STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Arts and Math) approved program that will turn my children into scientists! The program was designed in collaboration with NASA scientists and engineers and includes 12 modules, 5 NASA lesson plans and 10 STEAM activities. My students will learn scientific principles like Electromagnetic, Kinetic, and Potential Energy. They'll also make a Mars Rover. In addition, the students will be able to connect with the littleBits library to infinitely expand their discoveries.
