Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have some very unique high school students in my Essential Academics classroom that need extra reinforcement in their learning. My goal is to reinforce their STEM learning about math and science of shapes and simple machines through engaging DIY activities that also aim to enhance their functional life skills while following our adapted curriculum.

Our project will focus on reinforcing math and science skill development to extend the understanding of the 2D and 3D shapes and simple machines using toothpicks, gum drops, magnetic tiles, marshmallows, and pom poms with the added benefit of reinforcing their gross and fine motor skill development.

Please join me in giving my students multiple trial opportunities to practice essential skills such as measuring, following procedures, and building in a hands-on environment. We need your support and request funding for food items and craft supplies that align with our adapted curriculum.

With your help, we can create a fun and educational environment where my students can thrive, collaborate and build life skills that will serve them beyond the classroom fostered through independent work, teamwork, and pride in their accomplishments.
