My Students

The students at our school thrive to learn. We are a New York State Title I school, which means a majority of the students that attend come from a poverty-stricken family. The parents of our students want the very best for their children and look for the support and guidance of our school.

I want to support the students' eagerness to learn and I am writing this proposal to support and enhance our thriving S.T.E.M.

Program which includes Project Based Learning (PBL) and learning about and loving all living things. Students learn through engagement, exploration and hands-on discovery. Many of the materials like duct tape, cotton balls and craft sticks that are used are consumable and therefore, must be replaced often throughout the school year. These supplies are used as materials for projects that support learning. Students having this unique opportunity to support their education, enable them to grow and learn through discovery.

Our Love For All Living Things program is growing. Each year, more students have the opportunity to learn about plant and animals, their purpose, how they survive and how they support humans. Students have the rare opportunity to learn through observation and interaction with 15+species of animals.

My Project

The STEM Lab Zoo and Project Based Learning (PBL) Lab thrive from donors like you. All items requested are consumable and need to be repurchased often. Here, students have the opportunity to learn through hands on investigation with projects such as building a boat to learn about density, building a community to learn about circuitry or building an electric engine to learn about magnetic forces and electricity. Student also have the ability to learn and develop a love for all living things through hands on research and investigation. The STEM Lab Zoo offers a variety of 15+ living species including snakes, bearded dragons, leopard geckos, water and land turtles, mice, dubia roaches, meal worms, mega meal worms, crickets, fish and frogs . . . just to name a few. Students learn about habitat, inheritance and traits, survival, reproduction, life cycle, food chain and much more. This unique opportunity allows the studnet s to learn first hand and not just from a book.
