Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are eager, active, curious, and imaginative hands-on learners. My students are engaged daily in a rigorous, integrated academic curriculum, which includes a high emphasis on STEM learning. Students live in high poverty, metropolitan city and attend a Title I school. Our inner-city school lacks funding to access supplemental learning materials.

My students show up to class daily and work diligently to overcome the many challenges they face living in the inner city.

My students enjoy working cooperatively and display great creativity. Parents continually seek the best possible educational opportunities for their children. Additionally, I believe children benefit from experiences that include discovery, exploration, awakening curiosity, and an appreciation of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.

My Project

My students need Tinkering Labs Electric Motors, Engino Discovering STEM Structures Constructions & Bridges, and Pica Toys Solar Car V1 Model STEM Kits to explore hands-on science, math, and engineering activities.

For example, using the Engino Discovering STEM Structures Constructions & Bridges STEM kit students will complete meaningful projects to solve real-life problems faced around the globe—using STEM skills to find inventive solutions.

Students will conduct research and use the information they’ve learned to complete a hands-on STEM project, like building and testing a model home that runs on solar power. The Tinkering Labs Electric Motors Catalyst, Robotics Stem Kit will help students think like real scientists and engineers as they explore the STEM design process and solve problems. Students will plan, build and test their designs, then improve them until they are successful.

Students through STEM activities using the Pica Toys Solar Car V1 Model Kits and the other STEM Kits will develop skills in problem solving, perseverance, cause and effect, engineering practices, and the design process. Also and most importantly, students will thrive as they work cooperatively in their learning process.
