My Students

Do you remember wondering how things work as a child? Think of the curiosity and excitement you felt finding out why things work the way they do. I teach five-third grade classes and we have a large population of English Language Learner and Special Education Students. Even though they are a diverse group with strong cultural knowledge, they spark the same interest. My students have questions and are eager to explore for answers.

Curious, motivated, and creative; my students are ready to launch and explore any challenges they encounter.

As children of the 21st century, they need to build their critical thinking skills using Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math education, and become our next generation of innovators.

My Project

When it comes to technology, my students are fearless. Now we have to guide them into using their technological skills along with Science, Engineering, and Math to prepare them for the future. Who doesn't love Legos! Children will be extremely motivated and engage in the lesson. They would feel like they are playing, meanwhile they are learning!

By donating to our project, students will gain hands-on experience that will help build our children's critical thinking skills, teach them how to be a problem solvers, and become junior innovators while having fun.

My students are ready to create and take the challenge in creating something they can code. With the adaption of the curriculum from Lego Challenge: Mission Moon, my students will use the WeDo kits to create a machine and write a code that can transport necessity items from the space shuttle to their moon base, if they had to live on the moon for a year.
