My Students

My school services a high poverty, title-one area. Many of my students are special needs students that strive for the best. My students' minds and hearts grow each day as they enter the building ready to achieve their dreams.

Compassionate, thoughtful, and hard workers attend my sessions daily and feel confident and proud with the strong students they are becoming.

Many of my young students face both personal and academic challenges. Students with learning disabilities, homeless, hungry, enter our building everyday with an eagerness to learn and gain new experiences. My goal is to build on their energy, foster their determination and help them achieve their dreams in a safe, loving, welcoming environment.

My Project

Each iPad will help my students grow as whole learners through the use of new technology. Students can work on special apps that work directly on their reading skills and intervene for their individual needs. They will also utilize STEM related apps and math intervention apps to help close the gap.

My students will reach their goals, close the gaps in math and reading, if given multiple tools and technology to broaden their learning.

Each student that attends my group sessions for math or reading, struggle with focusing and completing tasks. Through the use of multiple modalities, my students who have been identified as Dyslexic, Attention Deficit (ADD), or ADHD can reach their goals in reading, writing, and mathematics.

Each day I love being a part of the growth and development of my students. With these new iPads, I can give them another tool to improve their skills and prepare them for the future.
