My Students

Imagine moving to a new country. You walk into a classroom and you may not have ever had any formal education before. You have never read or written and you have this smiling teacher talking to you in a language you don't understand. These are the students I teach every day.

I teach STEAM and Computer Coding in a Title I school where 85% of my students are English as a New Language Learners.

The children at my school spend more time at school than they do at home. When the school day is over, most of them go to an after school program. Any part of their day that could bring fun and new experiences to them would be welcomed with excitement and enthusiasm. And this is what brought me to DonorsChoose.org!

My Project

Recently I was gifted a 3D printer. This printer came with one spool of filament in white. We are unable to produce any 3D structures with only 1 spool because many of our ideas require more than 1. So our learning on the 3D printer has been halted because of this.

We are so eager to create, imagine and learn with our 3D printer.

We will use the engineering design process to solve real world problems with our 3D printer. Whether it be an all in one eating utensil, or a toothbrush with a built in flosser, my students are ready to invent. Our only obstacle is the lack of filament. Please help my students be STEM innovators and fund my project.
