Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The easel pads, markers, pencils, and patty paper are essential tools that will transform how my students engage with math and STEM concepts. The easel pads will allow students to collaborate in groups, visually map out problems, and present their solutions to the class, fostering both critical thinking and communication skills. Markers and pencils will be used for vibrant, hands-on activities that bring abstract math concepts to life. Patty paper will be instrumental in exploring geometric transformations, symmetry, and other spatial concepts in a tactile, visual way. These tools will make math more interactive, helping students to better understand and retain complex concepts through active participation and visualization.

My primary goal for this project is to create a more engaging and collaborative learning environment where students can actively participate in their learning process.

My students are a diverse group of bright, curious, and hardworking individuals who bring a wide range of experiences and perspectives to the classroom. Many of them face challenges outside of school, yet they come to class eager to learn and tackle new challenges. They are incredibly resilient, and their determination to succeed inspires me every day. What makes them truly special is their willingness to support one another and their enthusiasm for exploring new ideas. They thrive when given the opportunity to engage with learning in creative and interactive ways, and I believe these materials will help them unlock their full potential.
