My Project

Kindergarten is a magical time. A special time of curiosity, creativity, learning, and growing. We build our social, emotional, academic, and creative skills though hands on play. This year, I am hoping to build an engineering center that will inspire my young designers to CREATE!

Our STEM center will contain materials for kindergarteners to paint, draw, design, count, build and create.

The center will be a daily choice center during Free Play time. At times we may have guided lessons while other times students may design/draw/paint freely. The supplies will ignite curiosity, for example a light table with mirrored numbers. Children love insects, the project includes XRAYs of real bugs for students to explore and compare.

I am requesting hands on learning materials to bridge science, math and art. Tactile numbers, counting stones and translucent blocks, all the materials are hands on and designed to stimulate little minds and their creativity. My goal is for students to combine building materials with all sorts of art materials and watch the magic. The materials are open ended to enlist students are the designers.
