A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
The students that I see each day in my three fifth grade classrooms come from a very small, rural farming town. More than fifty percent of our four hundred students are on our free or reduced-price lunch program. We have students from all types of homes from diverse backgrounds.
My students never cease to amaze me with what they can and have overcome.
They are sweet, beautiful souls who deserve my very best, and that is what I strive to give them each and every day.
My Project
Our students are being prepared for jobs in their future that honestly might not even be in existence yet. It is our job, as teachers, not only to teach our subject areas, but to prepare our students to live in the world of technology that is our current reality. Technology increases every single day, and it is not going away.
STEM projects allow students the opportunity to think like scientists, mathematicians, and engineers while using and improving the technology skills that are so critical to their future.
By providing STEM tools (which admittedly look like toys), our students are motivated to increase their computer coding skills through what looks and feels like play. We need materials such as the Ozo Bit Coding Robot, a Makey Makey Inventions Kit, and a Build Your Own Video Game activity. These tools are invaluable in the classroom and are very appreciated by teachers and students alike!
