Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This school year I would like to integrate STEM with the winter season. To do so I will be having students complete a variety of activities. This project will help students complete a Hot Cocoa stem challenge. Each student will get a pack of hot cocoa and test out which temperature melts the candy cane and marshmallows the fastest.

This project will get students into the holiday spirit but also allow them to learn the engineering design as they work through this STEM challenge.

Students will also use the magnetiles for our "Sleighs and Ramps" STEM activity where they will build a ramp and test to see whose sleigh goes the farthest. Students will use the buttons, ribbon and spray paint to create their own christmas gift for their parents. These hands on activities are winter based to keep students engaged and excited before heading to winter break.
