My Students

I lead a STEM Enrichment class full of varying personalities. Fifteen sixth-grade students, all with uniquely shining personalities! Some are carefully cautious, doing each project with thoughtful planning, and some are avidly social, doing each project with enthusiasm and excitement. It is refreshing to see them work together to explore new topics and achieve greater challenges!

My favorite part about this class is witnessing some students completely flourish out of their shell.

This type of class brings out a diverse side of students you do not see otherwise. I am blessed to be the one watching as future scientists, engineers, doctors, mathematicians, architects, and artists find their place in the world!

My Project

These materials will transform my STEM Enrichment class from being limited to computer projects to being able to CREATE and BUILD with our hands! The red and white pony beads will be used to get hands on with binary coding. The propeller and wheel sets will allow students the opportunity to build and explore the mechanics of flying and rolling crafts. The rubber bands will be used to explore the ins and outs of potential and kinetic energy, which will then be combined with the flying and rolling crafts to create moving projects. The straws, tissue paper, string, and stick glue will be used to create tetrahedral kites. All other various supplies supplement the above said projects, as well as aid the teaching of simple machines!

We have a jam packed semester of STEM Enrichment, but the most impactful opportunities are only possible with your help.

Sixth graders are fresh, ready to explore, and energized by hands on projects. Please help me show these students how engaging and motivating the STEM world can be.
