Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a high school Health Science teacher in East Las Vegas, Nevada. The school site I work for is a Title I school with a high poverty rate, a large majority of students are English Language Learners and 100% of students receive free or reduced meals. Our young learners are vibrant, curious, and creative. These students deserve to have equitable opportunities to be prepared for STEM-related careers.

Dissection materials will be used to engage, and instill creativity, and passion for careers in healthcare.

Students will be able to examine, explore and expand their knowledge of the functions and structure of various organisms.

Students will be academically challenged by applying their knowledge of anatomy and physiology through hands-on laboratory activities.
