Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are enthusiastic, loud, creative, excited and eager. They love getting messy and doing hands-on activities in science class. When they come in each day, the first thing they always ask is, "Are we doing a hands-on activity today?!"

My students are 6th and 7th graders in a low income, Title 1 neighborhood school where many of them speak a language other than English at home.

Our school serves students in an urban setting grades K-8 and provides students with a supportive environment to flourish as students, athletes, engineers, artists and more! Our goal is to prepare students for the best high schools in Chicago.

My Project

My students need filament and two more 3D Doodler pens for our Maker Space creations. My students love being able to use these pens for STEM challenges as well as use them to create objects for other classes. Students use the pens to create game pieces for the ELA projects, manipulative for math games and pieces for science projects. These pens help engage ALL of my students from my most eager learners to my most reluctant learners.

One of the best parts of being a teacher is being able to help students bring their ideas to life.

I believe these pens and filament will allow my students creative thinking and problem solving skills to grow exponentially.
