My Project

My students are from the Kalihi area, which is an urban community located west of downtown Honolulu with a large immigrant population that continues to grow. More than 70% of the students come from low-income families.

The requested items will significantly enhance student learning by providing diverse, engaging materials that cater to various needs, allowing students to actively participate and deeply understand the subject matter through hands-on experiences.

This will ultimately foster a more inclusive and stimulating learning environment. The project goal is to cultivate critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a love for learning within a student body that is particularly passionate about real-world applications and collaborative projects, making them unique and eager to explore beyond traditional classroom boundaries.
