My Students

This section asks to describe what makes my students special and I don't even know where to begin! My students come from a variety of different backgrounds. Some are newcomers from the Middle East, while some come from families where generations have attended the very school they are at now. I make sure to do everything possible to send my students out into the world as compassionate, tolerant individuals. The neighborhood I teach in is high poverty, but our school really tries to level the playing field for all students.

Each of my students is passionate about a number of different things and, as a teacher, I try to find ways to ignite that passion.

Not all of my students are excellent at math or reading, but they might love sports or technology. As a class, we enjoy coming up with ways to incorporate a little bit of ourselves into what we are learning.

My Project

Students love STEM! Careers in STEM areas are extremely important, but before our students can enter into these fields, we must spark their interest and passion for them in the classroom.

A lot of things can be done using technology, but nothing can replace the process that happens in a student's mind when you give them something tangible they can create with.

These building tools will be used to create STEM bins that students will use daily to build whatever they can imagine! Giving students different options, instead of just the traditional legos or building blocks, will give them the opportunity to engineer new and exciting things! The sky is the limit when a child is given the freedom to dream big!
