My Students

I work in a public K-8 STEM school in 5th grade. I share 2 classes of kids that are amazing wonderers! Many of the kids have been with each other since the school opened 4 years ago and have formed great bonds with each other. They have a vast background in STEM education and I am constantly trying to find creative ways to grow their learning even further. They ask questions, find answers, and love being challenged!

Our campus values facilitating the kids' growth in being Persistent, Solution Focused, Service Minded, and Adaptable.

As 5th graders, we really work on building the skills to be successful in their middle school classes.

My Project

Being a teacher at a STEM school, we are always looking for ways to integrate STEM in to our day. I plan to use these bins and materials to challenge students that are finished with their work early and/or in our station rotations. Specifically, the STEM bins from Hand2Mind will benefit students in more than 1 way. They will help students to think outside of the box.

They will get to IMAGINE and INVENT ways to solve STEM based challenges.

They will further their knowledge of constraints to these real-world challenge problems. They will be able to BUILD their designs and see their STEM learning in ACTION.
