This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The Southpaw Steamroller Deluxe will benefit all of the students in the school that come to Occupational and Physical Therapy. It provides sensory input and would really make a huge difference for our students! Following the deep pressure that this piece of equipment can provide, students feel better in that they are able to sit for longer periods of time. This improves their ability to focus and attend which in turn, helps them to learn in the classroom. This device is also used for self-regulation, especially for decreasing anxiety and calming our kids. Overall, their academic performance would improve across all environments.
