My Students

I teach third grade at a small town, Title One school. I have a variety of students in my class. They love to have fun while learning.

I constantly get asked, "What fun thing are we doing today, Mrs. Hinson?"

I love hearing them say they love school and they think it is fun! In today's society, the children do not do well just sitting and listening to a lecture. They thrive with hands-on activities and group work. Whenever we do group activities, my students get really excited!

My Project

I am asking for interactive STEAM items to allow the students to have free play in the morning before beginning their day. I am requesting items such as magnetic shapes, straw building and many other items. I am also requesting a cart to hold all the materials in an organized way. I know the kids will love to come in and begin using their imagination and working together to build items. This will allow the kids to explore many different engineering aspects in the classroom and be excited to come in to school daily. They will feel like they are playing without knowing they are learning as well.
