My Students

Hello, I teach ICT 1st grade at a Title I school. My students are an amazing and wonderful group of 6-7 year olds who love to learn and have fun throughout the day.

They are becoming amazing readers and writers and love sharing what they learn with their friends and family at home.

First grade is crucial. They learn the foundation to everything they are going to do in their educational careers and need the right materials to help them succeed.

My Project

This year I want to use the Samsung Galaxy Tablets, headphones, screen protectors and cases in my classroom to help incorporate STEAM. I want to combine Science with Art and Technology to help my students have a broader and better understanding of Science.

We learn about many things throughout the Kindergarten school year and STEAM is crucial in Kindergarten.

We learn about plants, weather, seasons, animals, butterflies, the senses, etc... I want to use the Galaxy tablets so that my students can use apps to learn science concepts and then take pictures of all the things in their environment that is science related to what they are learning. We will make different books based on what they are learning. We will make a book about plants, seasons, weather, butterflies, the senses, etc... using the tablets for photography and then put these books in our library. They can print their materials from the tablets using our classroom printer as well.

We will also create great visual art projects for each science topic that we have learned about using materials funded through another project. We will hang these projects around our classroom for everyone to enjoy.
