Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Self-confidence comes from within. Often many of our students come to school and we do not know they may not have the hygiene tools many of us take for granted each morning. You may see students coming in with the same clothing that is not being well cared for, or with wet hair in the middle of winter which can lead to illness. With this grant request, I am hoping to take some of the stress off our students and allow them to create a great start to their morning routines.

I am requesting two items, The first is a portable steamer and the second is a hairdryer.

This item will allow students to refresh their clothing if they have not had the opportunity to wash or iron the outfit they have chosen to wear to school. The second item is a hairdryer. so many students come to school with wet hair, especially in the winter. This item can help avoid illness and also allow them the opportunity to style and dry their hair, which can lead to better hygiene and self-esteem.
