My Project

My students love hands-on activities to learn how force and motion work or to see a chemical reaction (in a safe way) before their very eyes. Many times, though, we don't have the hands-on material to have the opportunity to learn with our hands.

These STEAM materials will allow my students to have hands-on experiences to create and experiment in a productive way.

Having dish soap and cornstarch will allow students to experiment with creating their own "dough" to see how chemical reactions happen before their very eyes. Film canisters will also help students see chemical reactions because we can use them to create rockets and experiment with variables and measure distance flown.

Popsicle sticks, pipe cleaners, tin foil, and spoons are staples in our STEAM activities where students use math skills to help them improve their creations.
