Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students enrolled in this middle school are bright, eager, and curious scholars with a desire for learning. Most of these students will be first-generation college students: they know and understand that education is the key to success.

The books in the library should be in decent condition, contain accurate information, and be relevant and engaging.

Though these students live in a poverty-stricken community, their lives are filled with a wealth of resiliency, persistence, and determination. These students deserve to have a library that is a safe, inviting, comfortable space where they can come to read, work independently, or in groups.

My Project

STEAM education is crucial to help out students succeed in the 21st century. These YA books centered around these themes are a great way to gear them in that direction. These chapter books feature unique characters and storylines filled with incredible science, phenomenal technology, breathtaking engineering, impressive art, and complex math. When students come into the library, they seek books that will entertain them and help them learn more about these current and popular subject areas. These books will also help as students develop their literacy skills and an appreciation for independent reading.

Books that feature STEAM themes are crucial for the development of critical thinking and curiosity.

Titles such as " Any Day With You" and "Clues to the Universe" will help students develop a genuine appreciation and more profound knowledge of STEAM.
