This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I love my students for their resilience despite their surroundings and their will to learn and help others learn using their linguistic repertoires. Our English Learners are special because they come from homes where weakness and failure is not acceptable so they humble themselves every day to learn a language that will help them succeed in this country. My students are brilliant and driven with so much to give to this country.
Please grant my English Language Learners the opportunity to participate in the county STEAM week during spring break where 20+ of my hard-working language learners will demonstrate STEAM projects to elementary and middle school students and families in Spanish, Mixteco and English.
Your support will purchase family-friendly STEAM supplies and projects that each ELL will assemble, test and model to younger students and families during STEAM week. We thank you in advance for your time and support.
