My Students

Our students are always excited to work on activities that are hands-on! They come to school ready to work when they know they will get to participate in an activity or project that is active and engaging.

Instead of just presenting the facts, we use questions, problems, and scenarios to help students learn through their own agency and investigation.

The STEAM projects that we will be working on this school are going to be so much fun for my students!

My Project

Students will apply their knowledge of angle pairs to design, build and test bridges with their team. Student teams explore the field of engineering and various bridge designs.. Then they test their bridges to see how much weight they can carry before breaking.

Students will use the Engineering Design Process (EDP) as they work through the STEAM Bridge Project.

In reality, we want bridges to be very strong, but easy and inexpensive to build. Therefore, we will be considering the overall weight of the completed bridge (dead load) and the weight the bridge holds up (live load). The goal will be to engineer the lightest, strongest bridge!

The students will need hot glue guns and glue to construct the bridges. Please help my students with these supplies.
