These resources will help me give my students more free time coming to school in the morning. Transitions into school can be difficult for many students, but if students see that their peers are having fun with STEAM activities, it can make the transition easier. Items such as magnet tiles, knee, and link math manipulatives can help the students get their minds flowing in the morning as they come in.
These resources are great for the mind and can help the students with other skills like communication and teamwork.
The students would work with 1 or 2 other peers to create new things from the resources in their bin. Additionally, resources like Play-Doh and Wax Sticks offer more of a challenge to students to think freely about what they may want to create. The skills my students gain while completing these activities will help them through academics in the classroom with communication, teamwork, and challenging their brains.
