My Students

My students love school and love science. I love that they love both! Science class encompasses many skills needed for future success: communication, collaboration, critical thinking, preparedness, confidence, and responsibility.

We love hands-on science and working together to find answers, solutions, new ways of thinking, and most importantly, new questions.

We are part of a young school system, thriving school, and community full of support. Community leaders, school leaders, parents, high school students, everyone promotes and supports success for all of our students.

My Project

I would like to start using STEAM bins in my classroom each morning. Students will come in, unpack, and begin the day with active play. This will help wake students up, fire up their creativity, and start the day on a positive note. STEAM bins also give students choice in how they start their day.

The products I have selected are used by other teachers who are already using STEAM morning bins in their classroom.

We will use this items in the morning, but also for early finisher activities, free play, etc. We appreciate your help in providing students with engaged, active play!

Legos: Who doesn't love playing, building, imagining, and creating with Legos!? We will also use the magnetic set and brain flakes for building. Bananagrams and Appleletters for creative word building. Rush Hour, Blokus, and Kanoodle are all strategy, critical thinking games. Students will get to choose which games they play each morning!
