My Students

The students in my community are motivated to learn by innovation and critical thinking. They come from low socio-economic backgrounds and therefore have minimal resources and opportunities at home. The classroom, the school, and the community are all places for them to explore and excel. With the nearby park/recreation center, involvement from the local police department, and several community led activities on the school campus, the students and their families are exposed to various windows of opportunity to flourish and thrive.

My Project

As I teach in my district this year, I can notice the variety of great things and lack of things needed to support our students. Our students are eager young learners that want to learn and make a difference in their community. Thus, I believe that we should be teaching them using the technology that they are used to. Students at my school have not yet had the opportunity to create a MAKERSPACE or STEAM Lab that supports our future scientists, mathematicians and more!

This iPad Pro will open up new ideas for our students in using it for a variety of reasons: daily morning news, green screens, coding skills, technology, writing, research and much more!

This iPad Pro is only the beginning to kick start our MAKERSPACE or at least try to implement something this important for our students. Please consider helping out our students in also having a space of their own.
