My Project

I teach STEAM (science, engineering, art, and math) for a small school in Minnesota. In our class, students get hands on experience with a wide variety of topics such as robotics, planting our garden, and design challenges. Our students show so much excitement and curiosity in their work.

Currently, our classroom as 10+ year old stools.

These stools are constantly falling apart and causing students to fall onto hard flooring. They are hard to sit in for long periods of time and make it harder for students to focus on their projects. We have a few chairs with backs in the room, and if given the chance, students pick the backed chairs every time.

In order to help create a safe and friendly learning environment, I am asking for help in purchasing new chairs for our STEAM room. This will allow students to focus on their work and worry less about what is underneath them. It will also give students with differing abilities the chance to not stand out in a crowd and allow all students the comforts of a sturdy chair with a back.
