My students need USB sticks to save all the 3D work they created and show the work to get into a high school that fits them.

My Students
My class is a diverse, fun, inquisitive, talented and caring.
We love asking questions and finding new ways to express ourselves in all forms of new innovative engineering arts.
All of my students are of color, almost all are children of immigrants, and most of their families are facing economic hardships. They live in Far Rockaway, NYC, where 100% of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students are from broken homes, who depend on creative hands-on experiences to learn. I love providing opportunities to make sure my students are enthusiastic and successful on a daily basis, and I give them the tools to become 21st-century students who are learning and creating careers. Despite many people seeing these things as "barriers," in my classroom, I work to ensure that these parts of their identities are seen as assets. My students know that knowledge is power and they know that they are in school to learn and become college-ready students who will shape our country and our world.
My Project
My plan for the project "Engineering/Media Arts Engineering USB" is for students to create and save work in 3D arts incorporating science and math forms through Engineering Arts/Math/Science/media/graphic arts technology. We will then save that work to a USB Drive in order to present it to high schools.
Media Arts Engineering USB will provide an opportunity for the most talented middle school students from our school to work in 3D arts and to show off their creations by saving to a USB Drive.
In order to help my students become self-sufficient, responsible users of technology, they need access to their own USB drives on which they can save their work as they go.
Students will create a 3D style video-making using computer editing and graphics 3D art programs using the latest computer & media design software. With these simple, yet powerful devices, my students will be able to save their engineering projects, which will enable them to present their work to developers and architects. Ultimately, these students will then develop the confidence they need to bridge their transition between student life and the professional workplace.
Thank you in advance for helping my students reach their full potential!
