Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school district is currently 100% free and reduced and the majority of students are English Language Learners. This means that our students do not always have the same advantages as their peers in many other school districts, and are learning a new language while trying to master state wide curriculum.

My students are extremely eager learners.

We work very hard to provide them with as many opportunities as possible. They enjoy working hard and trying new and innovated activities. They are motivated to learn everything they can.

My Project

S.T.E.A.M stands for science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. Many of my students future jobs will fall into these categories. My students need opportunities to see how these different aspects of learning and critical thinking relate to their everyday lives. These materials will allow for the students to develop standard based skills in hands-on, real-world situations.

Having these materials means that our students will have the opportunity to excel and grow in a realistic and engaging way.

With these materials our students will develop an understanding of mechanical engineering and how to develop problem solving skills when building levers, inclined planes, and pulleys. The students will have the opportunity to collaborate with other peers, share ideas, and become critical thinkers and problem solvers. S.T.E.A.M allows students to have multiple perspectives when it comes to their learning.
