My Students

As one of the only Robotics Programs in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System, we constantly strive to teach our students new skills. So far, with the help of Donors Choose, we've been able to show them how to create professional videos, design amazing 120 robots, and even code.

My students are what we like to call engineered engineers.

Most enter our robotics program without knowing how to even begin designing complex systems. Through training, we have managed to bring students who are shy and with little confidence to the place where they are presenting before CEOs of corporations, government officials, and even crowds of hundreds of teachers. Many of my students are on free or reduced lunch, come from single parent households, and are looking for ways to help them improve their life far beyond what they would expect. When they graduate, I've seen many go on to amazing colleges and amazing engineering programs.

My Project

The android tablets that you are helping to purchase will provide my students the ability to learn another skill that will help further springboard them into an amazing career. We have started this past year learning how to program Apps from scratch. Not only are they learning - they are succeeding. So far we've developed one application that is being beta tested at one of our robotics competitions. Now we need a way of further testing our apps at our own site. These tables will allow us to design, create, and test amazing apps and at the same time help our team grow in skill.

There are not many STEM programs that can boast an average gender ratio of 50% or a minority rate of the same.

We have been able to touch many lives. With the help of your donation, we will be able to take students even further towards their destiny. Thank you.
